The sound of my voice...
Voice comes in many forms. It is a sign of independence. It portrays moods and feelings. And, it is also expressed in the physical form.
For a short period of time, I trained and worked as a voiceover artist. I learned about how the voice is perceived and can morph into different characters or moods, even when the person behind it isn’t seen. Our physical voices have immense power. Ultimately, it wasn’t the career for me, but I still like to utilize my physical voice as well as my writing voice when I tell my story.
I was honored to be asked to be in a podcast, The Savvy Creative with Christina Castaneda. I met Christina in a writing group I attend, and I was instantly attracted to her energy as a writer and business owner. Then I found out she had a podcast! As we chatted more, she invited me to be on it. I was so nervous, but once we started recording, I got in the zone. Our chemistry was on point, and the time just flew by! It was a natural conversation between two women speaking honestly and openly about things like trauma, self-judgment, and creativity. This dialogue proved how our voices have so much influence on others and ourselves.
I truly enjoyed this experience, and I’d love to hear what you think!
With love,
Nisha
