Hi everyone…if you were subscribed here, I haven’t written in this Substack since the end of 2019! SO MUCH HAS CHANGED SINCE THEN!
I started a new business which has evolved quite a bit, I quit my full-time job, and I’m starting to write my memoir - eek!
I have been dreaming up a way to share more about writing a memoir. I started to share a little on TikTok, but I find myself sharing more about life coaching things and random thoughts there. I’m not really a BookTok-er, nor do I want to be.
But one thing I am doing lately is reading books and really reading/listening to them for the story AND the craft. It feels like a memoir book study for me.
So here’s my idea, please let me know what you think:
I’d love to revive this Substack to review the books I’m reading and share how they are influencing me as I write my memoir which focuses on the themes of mother-daughter relationships (big mother wound here!), being a child of immigrants, never feeling like enough, and divorce.
Tbh, I’m not a super long reviewer, so I’ll really get to the crux of things with this content. I see this as a way to document what I noticed, integrate it for my memoir, and hopefully provide some helpful nuggets for you. I’ll also probably change the title of it.
Whaddya think?
If you’re not interested, I invite you to unsubscribe! I don’t have other intentions for this newsletter at the moment. I do have a “regular” newsletter that I share for people who love to read about:
Collective liberation
The interdependence of the Earth
Nuances about being a child of South Asian immigrants
Switching careers 6 times
My cats!
If you’d prefer to read about that, subscribe to my regular newsletter here. I also host free monthly parties for my email subscriber - one time we tried out the JournalSpeak technique and another month we watched the Care Bears! If that’s your thing, definitely subscribe.
Thanks all!
